Joann Mattson
Vice President of Strategy and Business Consulting
Joann Mattson is Vice President of Strategy and Business Consulting for Highland Capital Brokerage of Birmingham, AL. In this role she consults on and manages various projects for Highland with an eye toward executing on Highland’s strategic initiatives. Before joining Highland in 2018, Joann was a founding partner of Four Seasons Financial Group in Marlton, NJ, a national distributor of annuities and life insurance in financial institutions. Prior to her tenure with Four Seasons Financial Group, Joann spent 10 years with the Reliance Group of insurance companies in Philadelphia, primarily with United Pacific Life, a provider who distributed annuities largely through financial institutions.

- Associate, Academy of Life Underwriting (AALU)
- Past Chair of NAILBA’s Technology Committee
- Founding Member of Life Brokerage Technology Committee (LBTC) and current Member of its Steering Committee

Her passion is to use her carrier and brokerage experience to move the life insurance industry forward for the next generation. The insurance industry needs automation, data standards, and streamlined workflows between trading partners. By finding and applying more efficient technologies and improving the overall sales experience for both the agent and customer, she feels strongly that the industry can attract younger talent and grow while protecting the hard-earned assets of those they serve.
